Aluminum Advantages

  • Ductile and workable
  • Joinable
  • Reflective
  • Heat-conducting
  • Corrosion resistant
  • Non-combustible

What sizes do you offer for your aluminum ingots & billets?

Our aluminum ingots & billets are manufactured with diameters from 10"- 42" with lengths of up to 360".

What is the process for manufacturing your aluminum ingots?

  1. Incoming prime and scrap aluminum are melted down using our 60-ton reverberatory furnace manufactured by GPX.
  2. Several samples are taken and analyzed by one of our many on-site metallurgists before casting as redundancies to ensure exact customer requirements are met.
  3. Based off a spectrometer analysis, the alloys are added to meet customer specifications.
  4. Our holding furnace is integrated with the Wagstaff casting system, so tilting of the furnace can be changed from the control room.
  5. ELLWOOD Aluminum utilizes vertical direct chill casting technology manufactured by Wagstaff to offer state-of-the-art technology and the highest quality to our customers.
  6. Castings can be made at various sizes and either turned, cropped, or scalped to meet the exact requirements.
  7. After casting, our ingots go through a thermal treatment process to homogenize the chemistry throughout the entire ingot.
  8. Ingots then undergo machining as the customer requires, meeting the specified tolerances.
  9. The product is then packaged carefully so the product is perfectly preserved and intact before being shipped to the customer.
